Det er ingen sak å sy en genser som ser ut som en T-skjorte med genser under. Her viser jeg deg hvordan.
"Long sleeve under T-shirt-effect" gives an instant summer feeling, even though the calendar says fall... This effect is easy peasy to create by altering a ordinary sleeve pattern. Let me show you how!
Grab your regular sleeve-pattern. Mark a line where you want the short sleeve effect to be. This line needs to be perpendicular to your grainline. Cut the pattern in two parts.
Now it's time to cut your fabric. Remember to add the false "hemline" for the upper part - I added 2 cm. You also need to add the same amount of extra fabric where the two sleeveparts meet.
Fold up the false hemline, press and pin in place.
Now add the other half of the sleeve to the folded edge. Let the two parts meet - right sides facing down.
Sew. I use my twin needle, because I think it gives a great effect. You can also use a coverstitch-machine if you own one. Just make sure your seam "catches" all layers. I found it useful to measure the distance from the folded line and use my ruler as a guide.
All done! Nice, don't you think?
The sleeve is ready and you can now sew it on as usual.
